How Twanimals Came to Be
I first thought up Twanimals in December 2017 by asking my dad what his 2 favorite animals were, and combining them on our whiteboard. I made Bouse by drawing a mouse body, then adding a beaver tail, big teeth, and mouse ears. I also made up other Twanimals that are not posted on our website, for example:
⦁ Sturtle (starfish-turtle)
⦁ Darrot (parrot-dinosaur)
⦁ Toldfish (tiger-goldfish)
⦁ Morm (monarch-worm)
⦁ Chrab (cheetah-crab)
⦁ Dat (dog-cat)
⦁ Mebra (monkey-zebra)
I kept on adding Twanimals on our whiteboard, so that soon we had a whole collection. Here is what our whiteboard looked like that night:
Here’s the first picture I drew of Bouse:
Even though I made up Twanimals, my dad had the idea of turning it into a company. In a way, that makes us business partners! It was a hard choice deciding what our first product would be, there were so many choices, video games, key chains, stuffed animals, books, and more! We finally decided on stuffed animals for our first product, and books for our second. We chose stuffed animals because we LOVE stuffed animals, and thought that Twanimals would make the cutest ones ever.
And that’s how Twanimals got started. My next blog post will be about how we decided which Twanimals to make first, and what we did in the process of making them into stuffed animals.
